Manta Air targets wider audience with Bengaluru roadshow

Manta Air recently held a roadshow in Bengaluru, India, in partnership with InterGlobe Air Transport, their General Sales Agent (GSA) in the country. The event, held on March 18, 2024, aimed to introduce travel agents to Manta Air’s offerings and the benefits of flying directly to Dhaalu Airport in the Maldives.

Over 60 travel agents attended the roadshow, where they were addressed by Manta Air’s Deputy CEO, Ahmed Maumoon, and Nayan Srivastava, General Manager – Sales at InterGlobe Air Transport. Representatives from Kandima Resort, RIU Hotels, and Niyama Private Islands were also present, showcasing their respective resorts accessible via Dhaalu Airport.

Manta Air is looking to expand its customer base beyond honeymooners and leisure travelers. The airline sees potential in attracting innovative groups seeking unique travel experiences in the Maldives.

Currently, Manta Air operates three convenient weekly flights between Bengaluru and Dhaalu Airport on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

Passenger comfort is a priority for Manta Air. They’ve reconfigured their ATR72-600 aircraft to offer a more spacious flying experience. The standard 29-inch seat pitch has been replaced with a combination of 16 luxurious 36-inch pitch Sapphire Class (premium economy) seats and 48 spacious 32-inch pitch Comfort Class (economy) seats, totaling 64 seats on board.

Traditionally, reaching resorts in Dhaalu involved additional costs and hassle of arranging domestic flights or seaplanes after landing at Malé International Airport. Manta Air’s direct flights eliminate this inconvenience, delivering passengers directly to their resort doorstep. This also avoids long queues at Malé’s busy international hub and saves travelers 4-5 hours of travel time, allowing them to maximize their vacation time.

As the sole international carrier serving Dhaalu Airport, Manta Air prioritizes a seamless travel experience. Passengers on these flights benefit from exclusive check-in, immigration, and customs processes, ensuring a smooth transition between the airport and the aircraft.

Economy class passengers receive a generous 20kg check-in baggage allowance and 7kg of hand baggage, while premium economy flyers enjoy an increased allowance of 25kg for checked baggage. Complimentary meals with sandwiches and refreshments are provided for all passengers during the flight.
