More resorts announce festive period celebrations
As the year draws to a close, resorts are gearing up for the festive season, with many exciting events and celebrations planned.
Jumeirah Vittaveli will be hosting a festive gala dinner on the eve of Christmas, ‘A traditional Christmas affair’, followed by the traditional Christmas breakfast buffet on the 25th. For the New Year celebrations, the resort will host a gala dinner on the 31st themed ‘A Night of Elegance’, and a special New Year’s kids buffet at Kuda Koli Kids Club on the 31st December.
In addition to the festive dining experiences, the resort has also organised belly dancer performances along with dancing lessons for guests who are interested in learning. It’s not all fun and games at Jumeirah Vittaveli as the resort also encourages educational astronomy sessions teaching guests about the starry Maldivian night skies. For guests looking for a more quiet night, the classical musical performances by a Russian pianist or the chilled out tunes by an acoustic duo at the resort will be an ideal place for guests to unwind and relax at. For the party goers, the resort will host a party where a DJ will be spinning some tunes. The evening will continue into the night with a magic show and POI performances.
At Oblu by Atmosphere at Helengeli the activities will kick off on 22nd December. The day will see guests take part in aqua aerobics at the pool. Guests are given the chance to get creative in coming up with the perfect ‘OBLU signature cocktail’ while the children are busy at the zumba beach party.
Festive dining at OBLU is a spectacular occasion where the chefs lay out a menu of glorious culinary creations. The resort will host different entertainment programmes and live music along with treasure hunts and competitions where guests stand to win exciting prizes.
One&Only Reethi Rah has organised a range of activities starting from the Christmas day celebrations to New Years for both children and adults. For Christmas the resort has organised a special tea with the very special guest Santa Claus on the eve of Christmas. This will be for children and adults. Between Christmas and New Year celebrations, the resort also hosts a wide range of sports activities like football and tennis tournaments. The biggest event will be the 20s themed gala dinner and party hosted at the resort on the 31st of December.
At Anantara Kihavah Villas, this year’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony illuminated the unique coral tree standing proudly at 4 metres below the water level is a 2.5 metre-tall tree, which is 2 metres in width. The entire tree is decorated with broken pieces of corals harvested from the resort.
At Anantara Kihavah Villas, the countdown to New Year’s Eve 2016 will begin with a divine gala gourmet buffet on the beach. Entertainment throughout the evening will see guests ringing out the old year in style and ringing in the new one with new resolutions and happy faces.
