NHGAM wraps up ‘I AM Maldives’ roadshow in Warsaw, Bucharest and Prague

The National Hotels and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NHGAM), in collaboration with Visit Maldives and the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO), has successfully concluded the I AM Maldives roadshow across three Central and Eastern European cities—Warsaw, Bucharest, and Prague—from 17 to 21 November 2025.

The roadshow brought together 26 participating properties representing the full breadth of Maldivian tourism, including resorts, hotels, guesthouses, liveaboards, and travel agents. Across the three events, more than 150 travel professionals from Poland, as well as agents from Romania and the Czech Republic, took part in B2B networking sessions and presentations focused on community-led tourism initiatives in the Maldives.

NHGAM placed particular emphasis on promoting community-led tourism as a core theme for the Central and Eastern European market, while also showcasing the wider portfolio of Maldivian tourism products. Participating travel agents learned about authentic local island experiences, sustainable tourism practices, luxury resort offerings, and the variety of accommodation and activity options available throughout the country.

Across the three cities, 42 raffle prizes were awarded, including complimentary holiday packages that will enable the winning agents to experience the Maldives firsthand. Industry participants expressed satisfaction with the event’s organisation and the meaningful business connections formed during the roadshow.

“The success of this roadshow demonstrates the growing interest in authentic Maldivian experiences,” said Abdulla Nasheed, President of NHGAM. “Travel agents are now equipped with detailed knowledge about community-led tourism options, which opens new opportunities for travellers seeking genuine cultural connections alongside our renowned natural beauty.”

The Central and Eastern European market continues to show strong potential for Maldivian tourism, with Poland contributing 23,089 arrivals, the Czech Republic 17,779 arrivals, and Romania 13,824 arrivals as of the end of September 2025. NHGAM remains committed to promoting the destination across emerging markets to support the national tourism arrival target of 2.3 million visitors in 2025.

This marked the second edition of the I AM Maldives roadshow, following last year’s initiative in Georgia and Azerbaijan. NHGAM is planning further activities to promote the destination in the coming year, reaffirming the association’s commitment to expanding the Maldives’ presence in markets around the world.
