Niyama Private Islands Maldives appoints Laurent Dreyer as Resort Manager

Niyama Private Islands Maldives is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Laurent Dreyer as Resort Manager, a Swiss national with two decades of experience in luxury hospitality.

An economist by training, Laurent’s journey into hospitality began quite by chance. While working for Swiss brands Cartier then Evian, Laurent visited the Maldives in 2004 to pursue his passion for diving. This turned into a job offer at One & Only Kanuhura, one of the Maldives’ most celebrated resorts – and so his new career took flight.

From that time on, Laurent has worked at some of the island nation’s most glamorous properties: COMO Cocoa Island, the cutting-edge Huvafen Fushi, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas where he was part of the pre-opening team, and wellness retreat Velaa Private Island.

In 2021, Laurent took on his first role as Resort Manager of the popular Maafushivaru Resort Maldives. There, he supervised a staff of nearly 300 taking care of 81 villas. To all of his roles, Laurent brings a bold entrepreneurial spirit, laser vision for detail, and an innate understanding of true luxury – the perfect fit for Niyama.
