Outrigger Resorts has announced the appointment of Apple Woo as director of sales and marketing at the Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort due to open in the third quarter of 2015.
Woo joined the Hawaii-based Outrigger Enterprises Group on February 1 and will be based in the Outrigger Asia Pacific Office in Phuket, Thailand, according to a press release by Outrigger on February 2.
“Apple brings a great depth and range of sales experience in premier resorts and hotels,” said Mark Simons, Outrigger Vice President for Sales and Marketing in Asia Pacific.
“She is well versed in the needs and expectations of high-end leisure markets from Asia Pacific, Europe, North America and the Middle East. This will be a great asset as Outrigger Resorts pursues its aspiration of becoming the premier global beach resort brand.”
Woo is fluent in English and Mandarin and was previously Jumeirah Group director of global sales for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong for five years. Prior to her time at Jumeriah, Woo held senior sales and business development positions with Madinat Jumeirah Resort, Dubai, and the Mandarin Oriental Singapore, where she served for 10 years.
The Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort is located on a secluded uninhabited island in Gaaf Dhaal atoll, accessible via a 55-minute flight from the Male’ International Airport to Kaadedhdoo domestic airport and a 20-minute speedboat ride.
The new resort features 30 beachfront villas, 21 overwater pool villas, and an overwater presidential villa, supported by a reef adventure centre, spa, and a boutique retail outlet.
