Patina Maldives, Fari Islands appoints Faraaz Tanveer as Director of Spa and Wellness

Patina Maldives, Fari Islands has appointed Faraaz Tanveer as Director of Spa and Wellness, bringing more than 20 years of experience in spa and wellness management across Asia and the Middle East.

Tanveer joins the resort with a background that includes roles with brands such as AMAN, Four Seasons, ila Spa, Minor Hotels and Landmark Group. He most recently served as Director of Wellness at Janu Tokyo from November 2024, during which time the property entered the World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 list at number 37 and was included in Vogue’s Global Spa Guide: 100 Best Spas in the World.

Prior to this, he spent nearly six years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, most recently as Senior Director of Spa for the Japan Collection, where he oversaw wellness strategy across multiple properties. At Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi, he introduced programmes including “Moving into Stillness” meditation and a sleep-focused wellness offering. The spa was later recognised among Tokyo’s top five by The New York Times Style Magazine in 2022.

Earlier in his career, at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Tanveer reported 32 per cent year-on-year revenue growth and developed the “Guided by Gratitude” retreat, for which he received the “Best Spa Director/Manager in Asia” award at the Hall of Wellness Awards 2020.

He also served as Wellness Director for RAAS properties in India, where the ila-only spa at RAAS Devigarh was listed among the world’s leading spas by Condé Nast Traveler, and his “Devi Blessings Journeys” programme received recognition as a “Most Transformative Program”.

Commenting on his appointment, Tanveer said his focus would be on developing an integrated wellness offering at the resort.

“My vision is to position Patina Maldives at the forefront of modern wellness, where scientific innovation, personalisation, and experience come together to create lasting impact,” he said. “We aim to create an environment where guests can reconnect with themselves, combining modern approaches with established practices to support wellbeing beyond the duration of the stay.”

Tanveer is a certified Yoga and Qi Gong instructor with training in meditation and other wellness practices. He holds an MBA in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management.

At Patina Maldives, he will be responsible for leading the resort’s spa and wellness strategy as it continues to develop its wellness offering.
