Kanuhura Maldives wins Asia Pacific Lifestyle Tourism Award

Kanuhura Maldives has been crowned the Best Beach Resort and Best Spa Resort Destination in South Asia/Maldives at the Asian Lifestyle Tourism Awards in Singapore. These two ‘ALTA2018’ Awards also allows Kanuhura to qualify as Asia’s Leading Beach & Spa Resort in Southeast Asia—which is a huge privilege and a source of great pride for all those who strive to ensure Kanuhura is a world-class destination.

Supported by 25 Asian Tourism Ministries, the Asian Lifestyle Tourism Awards is also endorsed by the Asia Pacific Tourism & Travel Federation. The awards given at this ceremony are highly respected and the accolades are dependent on votes by the public. Due to the high number of votes that Kanuhura received this year, they were able to compete not just domestically within the Maldives but in the whole of Southeast Asia, which is a hugely exciting feat. As one of the establishments who won at this year’s ALTA2018, Kanuhura will also be able to enjoy a spot at the 2020 Asia Pacific Tourism & Travel Fair which will take place in Bengaluru, India, which is said to be the biggest travel fair in India.

Set across three islands – two deserted islands and Kanuhura itself – the celebrated resort reopened in December 2016 after an 18-month full renovation, winning recognition from Conde Nast Traveller as one of the world’s top hotel renovations.  One of the largest islands in the Maldives at 1.4 km in length, Kanuhura has only 80 thatched-roof villas scattered throughout its untamed tropical interior and on stilts over the requisite turquoise lagoon.
