SABA concludes 3rd Open Butler Program in Maldives

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The 3rd Open Butler Program conducted in Maldives by the South African Butler Academy (SABA), has concluded. The programme was hosted by Kurumba Maldives.

Participants from Kurumba Maldives, Olhuveli Beach and Spa Resort, Lux Maldives, Six Senses Hotels Resorts and Spas, Sun Island Resort, Vilamendhoo Island Resort and Spa, Constance Halaveli, One and Only Reethi Rah, and Milaidhoo Maldives graduated from the program’s most recent training.

“The South African Butler Academy is well-known in the Maldives for our excellent Butler training. We train our students the essence of true Butler service which is bespoke and humble,” said Newton Cross, Principal & International Butler Trainer of the South African Butler Academy and author of “Allow Me” Butler Training Handbook.

“We succeeded in creating a programme, which is now open to all Butlers across the world, who can apply and join our marvelous programme.”

The programme was the third to be held by SABA here in the Maldives, and its 13th since inception. The first programme was hosted in One & Only Reethi Rah in 2010, with the participation of trainees from Sun Siyam Iru Fushi Maldives, Club Med Finolhu Villas, Ayada Maldives, Olhuveli Beach & Spa Resort, Scubaspa Maldives, Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa, Gili Lankfushi Maldives, Velaa Private Island, and next up OZEN by Atmosphere at Maadhoo.

The second of batch of the program was hosted by Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa in January 2017.

The programme focusses on; body language, interaction and mindful confidence, 10 signature butler service, wine & spirits, barista and special areas of expertise, rooming orientation, beach butler, e-butler, table service, in-villa dining, sunset celebration, communication skills, telephone etiquette, protocol, laundry, and valet service, explained Cross.

“Special attention is given to the ‘heart of service’, one can teach many skills, however, the heart is the most important,” he added.

SABA’s biggest achievement to date is training the butlers on Queen May 2, chosen as the number one Butler training institute in the world. SABA is a member of the International Advisory Board of International Butler Training Standards; a global network of experts with integrity, value, and taste who have agreed to give the foundation meaningful input on a regular basis in many different areas.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
