Prior to joining Barceló Hotel Group, Santiago served as the General Manager of Nova Maldives from July 2021 to November 2022. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in enhancing the guest experience and elevating the resort’s reputation. Before that, he held the position of Resort Manager at Fihalhohi Island Resort from November 2019 to August 2020, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the unique demands of the Maldivian hospitality market.

As General Manager of Barceló Whale Lagoon Maldives, Santiago will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the resort’s operations, ensuring the highest standards of service and guest satisfaction.
