Shamin Ali appointed Director of HR at Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah
Maldivian hospitality leader Shamin Ali has been appointed as the Director of Human Resources at Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah, effective August 3, 2026.
Bringing over two decades of global HR leadership across the GCC and the Maldives, Shamin returns to Hilton to lead the luxury property’s people strategies, talent acquisition, leadership development, and organizational transformation initiatives.
Shamin holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in International Hotel and Tourism Management from IMI University in Luzern, Switzerland, alongside a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the London School of Commerce.
Throughout his career, Shamin has built a strong reputation for managing large-scale employee mobilizations, pre-opening strategies, and high-performing operations. Most recently, he served as Director of People & Culture for the Projects Taskforce at SLS The Red Sea in Saudi Arabia. Prior to that, he held the role of Director of Talent & Culture at Rixos Qetaifan Projects in Qatar, where he oversaw human resources operations across the destination’s waterpark, beach club, luxury hotel, and retail developments.
His appointment marks a return to Hilton, where he previously built a successful track record delivering people-focused strategies and operational alignment for the brand’s properties in both Qatar and the Maldives.
In his new position at Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah, Shamin will oversee the resort’s human resources operations, driving employee engagement and fostering talent in line with the brand’s luxury hospitality standards.
