Shareef appointed MACL managing director

Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, who has held senior positions in various governments, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL).

Shareef, who most recently served as Maldives’ Trade Representative in Australia, has previously held roles as Commissioner General of Customs and Chairman of the Transport Authority.

With a career in public service spanning 36 years, Shareef holds a Masters in Commerce from Australia.

Mahjoob Shujau was the previous Managing Director of MACL, which runs the country’s main Velana International Airport (VIA) during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s government.
