The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli launches first ‘Spirit to Serve’ initiative
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort has launched its first ‘Spirit to Serve’ initiative under the leadership of Alexander Blair, the resort’s new General Manager.
As part of the initiative, The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort contributed to their local community by renovating a primary school in the nearby island, Hulhudeli. A team of more than 40 volunteers joined Blair, to transform the school of 12 years into an enjoyable space where children cherish can their childhood and learning experience, the resort said in a statement.
The project took four days, 365 man-hours and 90 litres of paint. To show their appreciation, the parents of the local community cooked a spread of Maldivian cuisine for the volunteers who worked endlessly in the tropical rainfall, it added.
“We are honoured to serve the community by creating a school where the children feel inspired,” said Alexander Blair.
“We want to bring a positive influence to the place where they call home and we look forward to our next ‘Spirit to Serve’ initiative to continue our commitment to helping our community.”
