SSVR World Cancer Day Run at Meedho 2026

Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, Cancer Society of Maldives mark World Cancer Day with community programme

Sun Siyam Vilu Reef and the Cancer Society of Maldives successfully concluded a comprehensive health advocacy programme on 7th February 2026.

To mark World Cancer Day, the initiative integrated expert-led education, as part of the Sun Siyam Care sustainability programme, the event paired physical activity with educational advocacy to support cancer prevention and early detection.

The day commenced at sunrise with a Community Morning Run at Dh. Meedhoo, where participants gathered before sharing a nutritious breakfast. This was followed by an educational seminar at Dh. Meedhoo School, specifically tailored for students. The dialogue continued into the afternoon at Sun Siyam Vilu Reef, with a dedicated session for the resort team members focused on health and advocacy.

“We are deeply grateful to the Cancer Society of Maldives for their expertise and partnership,” stated Thoha Yoosuf, Resort Manager. “Our mission is to foster a culture of proactive health, ensuring our team and the local community are empowered with the knowledge to build a more resilient future together.”
