The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Appoints Vijay Kumar as GM
The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort announced the appointment of Vijay Kumar as General Manager. No stranger to the Maldives, Vijay’s most recent role was as the Complex Director of Finance at W Maldives and Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. Vijay brings over 15 years of diverse experience in hospitality operations and management.
A passionate, hands-on, and strategic leader, Vijay has held several roles across various Marriott International hotels within the finance function in India, Singapore, Malaysia, and Maldives. He has successfully completed four hotel openings. In 2018, Vijay moved from finance to operations as Hotel Manager at The Andaman, A Luxury Collection Resort in Langkawi, Malaysia.
On his appointment Vijay said, “Being a strong advocate of a balanced lifestyle personally, I am excited to come on board this wellness oasis, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo Resort, in my first role as a General Manager and lead a team that strives to create experiences that help guests become the best version of themselves while there are on vacation.”
Vijay shared that what he likes most is when guests leave as friends with happy memories, yearning to return. He also empowers associates, the stars of the show, to have the tools needed to deliver tailor-made experiences.
