Visit Maldives showcases ‘Sunny Side of Life’ at OTM Mumbai 2025
The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives), together with 38 industry partners, showcased the Sunny Side of Life at OTM Mumbai 2025, the leading travel trade show in India and Asia. The event was held from 30th January 2025 to 1st February 2025, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
OTM is one of the largest international gatherings of travel trade buyers and professionals in India, providing a significant platform for industry partners to present the latest information about their products and services. MMPRC’s participation at OTM helped connect with the Indian travel trade, share the latest travel updates about the Maldives, and highlight the destination’s unique tourism products, services, and experiences. Throughout OTM 2025, MMPRC aimed to strengthen the Maldives’ presence in the Indian market. Alongside its industry partners, MMPRC showcased the Maldives as the ultimate short-haul destination for all segments of Indian tourists.
The Maldives stand at OTM 2025 featured a wide range of activities, including media interviews, meetings with key travel trade professionals, and other engagements. The stand presented the diverse experiences and breathtaking panoramas of the Maldives.
India was the sixth top source market to the Maldives in 2024, with 130,805 arrivals, accounting for 6.4% of the total market share. MMPRC consistently conducts various promotional activities targeting the Indian market. In 2024, these activities included the Discover Maldives Webinar 2024, PR activities, OTM 2024, SATTE 2024, influencer familiarisation trips, the Explore Maldives Roadshow (with Manta Air), the Welcome India Roadshow, a campaign with Globalspa (India), and the Maldives India Networking Event. For 2025, MMPRC plans to continue its promotional efforts with digital and social media campaigns, participation in major fairs and exhibitions, media interviews, ad campaigns, TV and online programmes, and familiarisation trips throughout the year. These initiatives are designed to increase arrivals and maintain the Maldives’ momentum in the Indian market, solidifying its brand presence as the top dream vacation destination for Indian travellers.
