Visit Maldives showcases destination at PATA Travel Mart 2025 in Bangkok

Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) is promoting the Maldives as a premier short-haul and year-round destination at the PATA Travel Mart 2025, taking place from 26 to 28 August at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre (QSNCC) in Bangkok, Thailand.

The PATA Travel Mart is one of the Asia Pacific region’s most established international travel trade exhibitions, providing extensive networking and contracting opportunities for travel and tourism organisations. The 2025 edition will welcome more than 1,000 delegates from over 60 global destinations. The programme includes over 30 appointment slots across two days, a fully booked Knowledge Forum, as well as a range of social functions and side events.

At the event, Visit Maldives will highlight the diverse range of Maldivian tourism products and experiences to both regional and global stakeholders. The participation forms part of VMC’s strategy to strengthen the Maldives brand in the Asia-Pacific region, ensure strong destination visibility, showcase premium offerings, and build last-minute business opportunities for the summer and shoulder seasons. While travellers from Southeast Asia are particularly drawn to the Maldives for its romantic appeal, natural environment, and opportunities for relaxation, the promotion will also focus on family, adventure, and luxury travel segments to broaden awareness in the market.

The Maldives stand will feature one-to-one business meetings, the distribution of destination information and promotional materials, a trade survey to collect insights from the market, and video screenings presenting Maldivian experiences.

Tourist arrivals from Thailand reached 10,165 as of July 2025, with 40,061 visitors recorded from the wider Southeast Asia region during the same period, underlining the growing importance of this market for the Maldives.

Participation in PATA Travel Mart 2025 provides an important platform to strengthen business-to-business connections, establish new relationships, and enhance visibility for the Maldives as a leading global destination. The engagement also aligns with Visit Maldives’ wider regional strategy, including participation at ITB Asia 2025.
