Visit Maldives welcomes Netflix actor Taz Skylar to promote destination

British-Spanish actor Taz Skylar, known internationally for his role as Sanji in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece, has arrived in the Maldives to begin his role as a Global Ambassador for Visit Maldives.

His appointment is part of the Visit Maldives Global Ambassadorship Programme, which engages international personalities to promote the destination to new audiences. Skylar’s visit aims to highlight the Maldives not only as a destination for leisure but also for adventure, culture, and sustainability.

During his stay, he will take part in a range of activities across several atolls, showcasing the diversity of experiences available in the country. His itinerary includes diving and marine encounters that emphasise the Maldives’ reputation for underwater beauty, wellness and lifestyle activities that reflect its luxury appeal, and cultural experiences with local communities. He will also explore adventure-focused pursuits, demonstrating the Maldives as a destination for excitement and discovery as well as relaxation.

Through his social media platforms, where he has an audience of more than 1.8 million followers, Skylar will share his experiences with global audiences. His content will provide insight into the Maldives’ cultural heritage, natural beauty, and commitment to sustainable tourism.
