3 Maldives Resort Openings in 2023 to Watch
This year a handful of beautiful, luxury and ultra-luxury resorts are expected to open in Maldives. Three new resorts, Avani+ Fares Maldives, Amari Rayaa Maldives and Six Senses Kanuhura are expected to open in the first half of 2023. Keep an eye out for these exciting upcoming resorts in Maldives.
Avani+ Fares Maldives Opening 1 April 2023

Minor Hotels’ Avani brand will make its debut in Maldives with the opening of Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort on April 1, 2023. Located in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the resort will be Minor’s sixth property in Maldives.
The 200 room property will have a variety of accommodation options, from beach pool villas, four-bedroom beach pavilions, to three-bedroom over water villas. The resort will feature seven restaurants, including a kids-only restaurant. Keep active at the AvaniFit gym or relax at the AvaniSpa.
Amari Raaya Maldives Opening May 2023

Amari Raaya Maldives, Amari’s second property in the Maldives, is projected to open in May 2023. It is part of the ONYX Hospitality Group, one of the fastest-growing hospitality players in the Asia-Pacific region. The 186 villa resort aims to position itself as a family orientated destination. A handful of the beach villas can be connected to offer two bedrooms for families or friends traveling together.
Amari Raaya has something for everyone! For those seeking rejuvenation, head to the Maai Spa Wellness Oasis. Sport lovers will enjoy the football court, badminton court and mini golf course. Kids will be entertained all day at the Kids Club’s huge outdoor playground with a zipline! The resort will feature seven food and beverage outlets including an Italian restaurant, a cafe, a food truck and pool bar.
Six Senses Kanuhura Opening summer 2023

Six Senses Kanuhura is expected to open in summer 2023. The property comprises three white-sanded private islands. Two of the islands, Jehunuhura and Masleggihuraa, are deserted for guests to immerse themselves in Maldives’ pristine, secluded nature.
The resort is a 40 minute seaplane flight from Velana International Airport. The resort will feature 80 private over water, beach and family villas. Six Senses Kanuhura will incorporate new wellness, sustainability and conservation initiatives into the resort’s daily operations. The restaurants will adopt the Eat With Six Senses philosophy of local, natural and sustainable ingredients in all dishes.
