The luxury resort Anantara Kihavah Villas has been awarded ‘Top Employer of 2014’ by Job-Maldives.com.
The resort was voted top employer in a recent poll conducted by the popular online career portal.
The award was presented on February 11 as the resort celebrated its fourth anniversary, Anantara noted in a press release.
“Anantara Kihavah Villas emerged as the strongest contender in the race to win the Top Employer of 2014 Award with 45.92% of all votes casts,” the website explained while announcing the results.
The independent poll conducted in January 2015 was open to both registered and non-registered users of the online jobs portal. Over 3,000 votes were cast over a 14-day period.
“Since first opening its doors on 1 Feb 2011, Anantara Kihavah Villas has been an exemplar for people practices within Minor Hotel Group – enjoying the loyalty of associates and high scores in our worldwide engagement survey,” said Caroline Stevens, Chief People Officer for Minor Hotel Group.
“It is wonderful that our team’s efforts have now been acknowledged in the country. We are proud of our commitment to people and thank the voters for this recognition.”
At the resort’s annual celebration, this year’s Manager of the Year award was presented to Ahmed Zaki, Executive Housekeeper.
“Empowerment, flexibility, and the caring attitude of the senior management makes a huge difference here compared to all other resorts in the Maldives,” Zaki suggested.
Anantara Kihavah Villas is located on the Kihavah Huravalhi Island in Baa atoll, a 35-minute seaplane ride from the Male’ international airport. Baa atoll was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in June 2011 and includes Hanifaru Bay, a world-renowned marine area for sighting of whale sharks and manta rays.
Last year, the Maldives Association of Tourism and Travel Operators (MATATO) voted Anantara Kihavah the ‘Leading Beach Resort in Maldives.’
Among the other resorts in the top employer poll included Kurumba Maldives in second place with 23.57% votes and Jumeirah Dhevanafushi in third place with 3.18% of all votes indexed.
“Other strong competitors in the trail included W Retreat & Spa Maldives, Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa, Anantara Dhigu Resort & Spa, Huvafen Fushi, Soneva Fushi, One&Only Reethi Rah, Velaa Private Island Maldives and Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Landaa Giraavaru, in a long list of over thirty Resorts in Maldives,” according to Job-Maldives.com
