This Easter in Maldives Resorts
Easter is just around the corner and many of the resorts in the Maldives have unveiled their festive packages. Holidaymakers visiting the Maldives during this time will be treated to an ‘eggciting’ array of activities. Hotelier Maldives has put together a guide to some of the events on offer across the archipelago.
Dusit Thani Maldives
Easter culinary pursuits will take over Dusit Thani from 12 to 17 April 2022 with a special visit from Michelin-starred Chef Vreni Giger of Hotel Rigiblick in Zurich. The Swiss chef’s Easter residency kicks off with a cooking class on 13 April. Take a seat at Sea Grill on Tuesday 12 April or Saturday 16 April for a spectacular oceanside dinner, paired with artfully selected wines. On Easter Sunday she presents a Jazz Breakfast at The Market and dinner at Sea Grill. Furthermore, award-winning Thai restaurant Benjarong will celebrate Thai New Year on Wednesday 13 April with a water ceremony, street food and family fun. The Mysterious Maldivian Magician will take to the stage at Sand Bar on Easter Sunday for a spectacular show, and Moonlit Movies will hit the silver screen on Monday 18 April. Baan Sanook has planned an egg hunt, bubble parties and pizza making.
Coco Bodu Hithi and Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu
Coco Bodu Hithi and Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu are preparing for Easter with a range of events tailored for families. Over at Coco Bodu Hithi, talented chefs will cook up a fabulous Easter brunch, followed by a traditional egg hunt and an appearance from the Easter bunny. Special cocktails, a DJ, and a photo booth are also planned for the day. Over at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu little ones can paint eggs and play fun beach games. Kids can also join pastry chefs to decorate delicious cookies and join an Easter egg hunt as well as try to crack a giant egg to reveal the surprises inside.
Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives
Mövenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives’ Easter programme kicks off from 15-24 April. Choose from zumba, yoga, face painting, water gun fights, under-the-stars cinema, cooking classes, sand sculpture competition and egg hunting. Families can escape to a castaway island, enjoy kayaking, a barbeque picnic, snorkelling or a jetski experience. Magical Sundays from 17 to 24 April involve sunrise yoga on the spa jetty. There is also an Easter Gala Breakfast at ONU Marché, the beachfront market-style restaurant with a bamboo roof. Specialities on the buffet menu include barbeque glazed lamb ribs, smoked salmon with pancake roll, summer vegetable ratatouille, roasted chicken roulade or oven gratin butterfish. Over at the Easter bakery section, diners can enjoy delicious pastries such as raisins tress bread, traditional hot cross buns, cherry tomatoes focaccia, brioche roll and more. A host of delectable desserts including rabbit cookies on vanilla sable, Easter eggs and chocolate rabbits, warm chocolate fudge pudding, banana almond tart and fudge walnut brownies will be available at the dessert station. Easter is not complete without the Easter Bunny and chocolate eggs. On Easter day. The Little Birds Club team will invite all the little ones to hunt for the colourful Easter eggs hidden around the beach where they can win a special prize for finding the Kuredhivaru egg. For fun and fitness enthusiasts, there will be a special family games session on the beach with the chance to win great prizes during the event.
Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort and Spa
As part of their Easter jovialities, the resort has included an Easter buffet in its Full Board Promo and they have a line-up of activities for the children to indulge in from Easter face painting to Easter crafts and a bubble and magic show. The resort features seven restaurants and bars, two freshwater pools, Shine Spa located on a private island for maximum indulgence, a tennis court, a 24-hour gym and ample of on-island activities. Their Full Board Promo includes breakfast at Feast. Lunch buffet at Feast or a two-course Asian menu at ChopstiX, Mediterranean at Anchorage, Caribbean at Kakuni Hut, or Indian at Masala Hut and a dinner buffet at Feast or three-course menu at ChopstiX, Anchorage Bar, or Masala Hut. The Westin Maldives Mirandhoo Resort
The Westin has daily themed dinners through the Easter week and a special dinner buffet, wine tasting sessions, cooking and mixology classes – even a sandbank party at a nearby island with a DJ and live barbeque. Bandos
Bandos has an eggcellent Easter adventure in store on 16 April for kids at the Kokko club. The activities kick off with hopping down the bunny trail at the Kokko club, guests are also invited to have a hoppin’ good time taking part in a hand and feet print keepsake crafts event where they can get their hands on dough, egg moulding on 17 April there will be a funny bunny toss in Kokko Club garden, a paint zone for getting all crafty and a chance to decorate the Easter egg tree. Finally, families can get ‘hoppy’ at an Easter party on Huyan Beach.
Six Senses Laamu
Unwind this easter with an underwater Easter egg hunt. Twelve Easter Eggs have been spotted in two different locations in the water surrounding the island. Six eggs have been sighted on the house reef, near chill bar, and six more in the seagrass meadows between the jetties. Each Easter Egg has a letter on it and six eggs together spell out one word. Guests can write their answer and post it in the ballot box in Chill Bar for a chance to win a private sunset and dolphin cruise. In addition to this, the resort has freediving lessons for teens, and a pool party at Sip Sip pool where youngsters can enjoy mocktails, music and pool games with new friends. For adults, there are also daily masterclasses with our visiting pastry chef: Jason Licker, a renowned American pastry chef who invites guests to join him in the kitchen to learn how to make some of his favourite treats including cookies, marble cake, banana bread and more. Join the bar team to learn, step by step, how to make Six Senses Kombucha, Ginger Beer and Turmeric Soda at home, or sample the finest Japanese Whiskeys guided by the bar team. All the family can join in the Easter dinners at Leaf on 17 April or sample the finest tastes of the Indian Ocean on Easter Monday with dinner at Chill Bar.
