Akiri Enterprises, H.E. Engineering hosts special presentation on waterproofing and concrete protection

Representatives for a number of hotels and resorts operating in the Maldives attended the presentation held at Hotel Jen, which was conducted by Yunus Rajkotwala, the Managing Director of H.E. Engineering Pvt Ltd.

H.E. Engineering, based in Sri Lanka, is one of the leading contractors and suppliers in the field of waterproofing, concrete repair and specialized civil engineering products. Established in 1995, and part of the H.E. Group formed in 1907, H.E. Engineering began operating in the Maldivian market ten years ago.

Earlier, the company marketed products to the Maldivian market directly from Sri Lanka but has since established a partnership with Akiri Enterprises to market and distribute products and services with a presence on the ground. The company has, over the past ten years, undertaken a number of major projects in the Maldives, mainly related to concrete waterproofing, concrete protection, and specialised industrial floor coatings for kitchens. The company has also supplied products such as waterproofing materials, tile adhesives, Skimcoat, Waterstops, external waterproof coatings, etc. to contractors in the Maldives.

“When we first started operating in the Maldives, we noticed two things; firstly, the limited availability of high-quality products; and secondly, the limited technical know-how on using these products,” said Yunus, speaking to Hotelier Maldives on the sidelines of the event.

“Our products have been approved and used at most of the large projects in Sri Lanka. We believe these products could provide solutions for the construction sector in the Maldives, especially the hotel industry.”

H.E. Engineering has a wide range of products related to Waterproofing (sheets, cement based liquids, PU liquids, etc.), Sealants, Insulation (Polystyrene and Glass wool),  Waterstops, Dampproofing, External wall waterproofing coating, Industrial flooring, Geotextile/liners, Construction grouts, Skim coat, Premix plasters, Construction chemicals, Protective coating, Concrete repair mortars, Tile adhesive (for different tiling applications) and high polymer Tile Grout.
