COMO Cocoa Island bags Best Hotel in Maldives award by TripExpert
COMO Cocoa Island has been awarded the Best of Maldives Award and Experts’ Choice Award 2017 by TripExpert—a travel review site that relies on experts to provide meaningful ratings for hotels, restaurants, and attractions. COMO Cocoa Island, located in South Malé Atoll, is operated by COMO Hotels and Resorts, which operates two resorts in the Maldives; the other being COMO Maalifushi.
Debuted in 2014, TripExpert ranks hotels around the world based on reviews by newspapers, magazines and of its partners (over twenty travel guide services including Frommer’s, Lonely Planet, Fodors Travel and Travel + Leisure).
“This award is particularly important to us as it reflects the views of leading travel and leisure publications, including Frommer’s, Travel and Leisure, and Fodor’s,” states COMO Cocoa Island in a statement. “We endeavour to continue offering our guests the ultimate Maldivian luxury experience. Thank you for your support.”
This is the second time COMO Cocoa Island has won the TripExpert award. It offers some of the best diving in the world with two private house reefs. Accommodation at COMO Cocoa Island is inspired by local “Dhoni” boats in bleached wood with Kajan roofs; Dhoni Suites, Dhoni Loft Suites, Loft Villas, one-bedroom Villas, and COMO Villas.
The resort also offers a COMO Shambhala Retreat dedicated to renewing body and soul. The restaurant honours nature, featuring seafood and organic vegetables in exciting, healthful combinations showcasing a blend of European and Indian flavours.
COMO Cocoa Island also took away the World’s Leading Private Island Resort award at the World Travel Awards 2016, Maldives’ Best Wellness Retreat award and Indian Ocean’s Best Wellness Retreat award at the World Spa Award 2016, and was ranked fourth in the Top 25 Luxury Hotels in the World by TripAdvisor Travelers Choice 2016.
