Maldives observes over 2% hike in June tourist arrivals
The Maldives saw 123,281 tourists in June this year, according to statistics from Maldives Immigration. This is a 2.42% increase from the 120,363 tourists who visited during the same period last year.
China had the highest number of visitors, with 20,036 tourists in June. Russia followed with 14,865 tourists, while India came in third with 10,018 visitors. The UK and Germany also contributed, with 8,261 and 5,811 tourists respectively.
On average, the Maldives welcomed 4,109 tourists per day last month.
The Tourism Ministry reports that over one million tourists visited the Maldives in the first six months of this year, reflecting a 9% increase compared to the same period last year.
