Sheraton Maldives to host Full Moon Cup Futsal Tournament 2026

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa has announced the return of the highly anticipated Full Moon Cup Futsal Tournament, set to kick off on June 1, 2026. Now in its fourth consecutive year as host, the resort continues its role in elevating this long-standing inter-resort sporting tradition, bringing together resort teams from across Kaafu North Malé Atoll to celebrate camaraderie and the vibrant spirit of the Maldivian hospitality community.

While the Full Moon Cup has been a cherished initiative within the atoll for many years, historically hosted by different resorts, Sheraton Maldives has proudly hosted the tournament consecutively since 2023, further strengthening its legacy and impact within the industry.

Since taking on hosting duties, the Full Moon Cup has grown into a signature inter-resort tournament, welcoming participation from leading resorts and organizations, including Hilton Maldives Amingiri Resort & Spa, Centara Ras Fushi Resort & Spa Maldives, Cinnamon Dhonveli Maldives, Adaaran Hudhuranfushi, Villa Nautica, Joy Island, and more. The tournament is open to teams comprising resort associates, offering a dynamic platform to connect beyond the workplace while fostering healthy competition and meaningful professional relationships.

The deadline for team submissions is April 30, 2026, with matches scheduled daily from 9:00 PM, featuring two exciting games each evening. Each participating team may include up to 12 players and five officials, ensuring a well-rounded and competitive lineup.

“The Full Moon Cup has become more than just a tournament. It is a celebration of unity, passion, and the incredible community spirit within our industry,” said Greg Allan, General Manager of Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. “We are proud to host this event for the fourth consecutive year and look forward to welcoming both returning and new teams for another unforgettable edition.”

Adding to this, the resort’s Human Resources leadership emphasizes the deeper value of the initiative. “At Sheraton Maldives, we believe in creating meaningful experiences for both our guests and the associates,” said Hassan Shareef, Director of Human Resources at Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. “The Full Moon Cup is a powerful platform that strengthens connections, encourages teamwork, and promotes well-being through sport, bringing our hospitality community closer together.”

Beyond the competition, the tournament offers a lively and engaging atmosphere, with matches streamed live and opportunities for networking, shared experiences, and celebration both on and off the court. As highlighted in the official event brochure, the Full Moon Cup continues to build a legacy of sportsmanship and memorable moments that extend far beyond the game.
