Vakkaru and Bandos win Zone Championships in Inter Resort Volleyball Tournament
The Inter Resort Volleyball Championship is currently underway, and two resorts have already emerged victorious in their respective zones.
In Zone 1, Bandos Maldives defeated One&Only Reethi Rah 3-2 in the final match. The match was a close one, with both teams trading wins in the first four sets. However, Bandos Maldives was able to pull out the victory in the fifth set to claim the championship.
The Zone 1 Dream Team included Batis, Hussain Razzan, Ali Amir, and Kavishka Madshanka of Bandos, as well as Hussain Ibrahim, Ahmed Nabil, and Ali Huzam (Huzante) of One&Only Reethi Rah. The best coach was Mohamed Sajid (Katte) of Bandos Maldives. Batis was named the best player of the zone.
In Zone 5 and 6, Vakkaru Maldives defeated Anantara Kihavah Maldives 3-2 in the final. This match was also a close one, with both teams winning two sets apiece. However, Vakkaru Maldives was able to prevail in the fifth set to take the championship.
The zone’s dream team included Ibrahim Fazeel, Hassan Nilam, and Shadud Zaki of Vakkaru, as well as Ahmed Fazeel, Adam Fairooz, Kavind Prabsara, and Saud Ahmed of Anantara Kihavah Maldives. The best coach of the zone was Mohamed Shiham of Vakkaru Maldives.
The Zone 2 and 4 matches are currently underway. Two matches have been played so far in the zone, with Conrad Maldives winning their first match against Villamendhoo Island Resort and losing their second match against Waldorf Astoria Maldives.
In addition to Conrad Maldives, Villamendhoo Island Resort, and Waldorf Astoria Maldives, the zone also includes W Maldives. The top team in the league round will qualify for the final, while the winner of the semi-final match between the second and third placed teams will qualify for the final. The zone final will be held on 2nd July.
The Inter Resort Volleyball Championship is a popular event in the Maldives, and it is sure to be exciting to see who comes out on top in the remaining zones.
