Visit Maldives leads Maldives’ promotion at Beijing International Tourism Expo 2025

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives) is showcasing the Maldives’ unique travel offerings for Chinese travellers at the Beijing International Tourism Expo (BITE) 2025. Taking place from 27th to 29th June at the China International Exhibition Center (Chaoyang Venue), MMPRC is participating in the event alongside six key industry partners to strengthen its foothold in the Chinese travel market.

The Maldives is featured at Stand 6T11, where a variety of engaging activities are being conducted, including photo opportunities, promotional video screenings, and one-on-one meetings with travel trade professionals. Co-exhibiting with MMPRC are Try Maldives Holidays, Plumeria, Sun Siyam Travels, ICOM Marina Sea View, Diamonds Thudufushi Beach & Water Villas, and Courtyard Maldives. These partners are presenting a broad spectrum of travel experiences, highlighting the destination’s diverse offerings—from intimate boutique stays to comprehensive full-service packages.

This participation aligns with MMPRC’s ongoing efforts to sustain interest from the Chinese market and promote the Maldives as a premier long-haul, year-round holiday destination. As of 11th June 2025, the Maldives has recorded 122,088 arrivals from China, following a total of 263,340 Chinese visitors in 2024. China continues to lead as the top source market for the Maldives in 2025.

The country’s presence at BITE 2025 complements a series of successful destination marketing initiatives carried out across China throughout the year. These include impactful digital campaigns, strategic partnerships with leading tour operators, and media familiarisation trips. MMPRC is also advancing targeted promotional efforts such as Visit Maldives Week in China and participation in regional tourism forums, further enhancing destination visibility and fostering continued growth.
