Qatar Airways to make exciting network announcements at ITB 2016

Qatar-Airways-ITB2016Qatar Airways is planning to announce new destinations and routes at the upcoming ITB Berlin 2016 travel and trade fair.

ITB Berlin, the world’s largest travel and trade event, will take place from 9th  to 13th  March. The Maldives is the partner country for this year’s event.

“The way people travel is changing, and ITB showcases the latest trends and innovations. We are looking forward to leading the industry with our superior business and economy products, and to announcing exciting new destinations for our passengers,” said Akbar Al Baker, group chief executive of Qatar Airways.

“We are a young company that is growing rapidly. With a current fleet of 177 modern aircraft, we are connecting even more passengers to our global network of more than 150 destinations, and offer a product that can expertly match their travel needs. This is what we will demonstrate once again this year at ITB.”

The new destinations will add to an already exciting year of inaugurals. Qatar Airways recently launched services to Los Angeles on 1st January, Ras Al Khaimah on 2nd  February and Sydney on 1st  March. The airline will also begin flights to Boston, USA from 16th  March; Birmingham, UK on 30th  March; Adelaide, Australia from 2nd  May; Yerevan, Armenia from 15th  May and Atlanta, USA from 1st  June.

Qatar Airways will reveal a completely redesigned exhibition stand at the ITB Fair this year. The airline’s latest brand campaign theme ‘Going Places Together’ will be reflected in the redesign and activities, with a focus on bringing travellers closer together.

The exhibition stand will also feature particular elements of Hamad International Airport, Qatar Airways’ new home since 2014, and an airport that is quickly becoming a favourite of world travellers for its passenger-centric design. Any traveller passing through the airline’s Doha hub benefits from seamless transfers at this modern, state-of-the-art airport, which offers more than 70 shops and boutiques and 30 restaurants, world class lounges, a hotel and spa inside the airport, and sports facilities.

Trade fair visitors are encouraged to experience Qatar Airways’ premium products and customer service for themselves in Hall 22.B, booth 207. The airline’s A380 and A350 First Class and Business Class seats will be on display, with visitors invited to put them to the test. The First Class suite is equipped with an extendable, flat bed that is over 2.3 metres in length, along with a 26-inch high-definition screen. The Business Class seat extends to 2 metres long to convert into a complete bed and comes with an entertainment system with a 17-inch high-definition screen.

Last year’s ITB show featured more than 10,000 exhibitors from over 180 countries, who presented their products and services to around 175,000 visitors. This year, the leading travel exhibition in the world celebrates its 50th anniversary.
