Maldives’ tourist arrivals rise 12.9% in first 10 days of 2026
A total of 56,832 tourists arrived in the Maldives during the first 10 days of this year, marking an increase of 12.9 per cent compared to the same period last year, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism.
Figures published by the ministry on Sunday show that an average of 6,941 tourists arrived in the country each day during the period.
The highest number of arrivals recorded on a single day so far this year was on the 3rd of the month, when 8,082 tourists entered the Maldives.
Russia accounted for the largest share of tourist arrivals during the period, with 13,157 visitors. Other major source markets included Italy with 9,199 tourists, the United Kingdom with 5,163, Germany with 4,202, and China with 2,944 arrivals.
By the end of last year, the Maldives received 2.2 million tourists. This was around 50,000 short of the government’s target of 2.3 million arrivals for the year.
The Maldives is targeting 2.4 million tourist arrivals this year.
