Radisson Blu Maldives GM Joseph Della Gatta named SEAP General Manager of the Year
Radisson Blu Resort Maldives has announced that General Manager, Joseph Della Gatta has been named General Manager of the Year – Southeast Asia Pacific (SEAP) 2025 by Radisson Hotel Group. The award was presented at the group’s annual General Managers’ Conference in Thailand and recognises leaders who have made an outstanding contribution to their hotels, teams and the wider hospitality industry.
The recognition celebrates excellence across every aspect of hotel leadership, from building strong owner relationships and developing high-performing teams to driving commercial success, elevating the guest experience and making a meaningful impact within the local community.

For Joseph, the award reflects a career spanning more than two decades in hospitality, including 17 years with InterContinental Hotels Group across the Maldives, Thailand, Fiji, the Philippines, China and Australia, before joining Radisson Hotel Group in 2023. His return to the Maldives marked the beginning of a new chapter, leading Radisson Blu Resort Maldives with a clear focus on people, performance and creating memorable guest experiences.
Since joining the resort, Joseph has guided the team through a period of continued growth and recognition. Under his leadership, Radisson Blu Resort Maldives has been recognised by Radisson Hotel Group for achieving the highest service excellence scores in the Middle East and Southeast Asia Pacific region, as well as outstanding online reputation for guest experience. Alongside commercial success, the resort has continued to strengthen its commitment to personalised service, sustainability and meaningful guest experiences that reflect the unique character of the Maldives.

Throughout his career, Joseph has built a reputation for creating positive workplace cultures where people are empowered to grow, collaborate and deliver exceptional hospitality. This is also not the first time his leadership has been recognised at brand level. Prior to joining Radisson Hotel Group, Joseph was named General Manager of the Year by InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in 2017, making this latest recognition a reflection of consistently strong leadership across two of the world’s leading hospitality brands. His leadership has also contributed to numerous regional and international awards across guest satisfaction, service excellence, sustainability, commercial performance and team engagement.
“It is an incredible recognition for me personally, and one that I feel deeply grateful for,” said Joseph Della Gatta. “At the same time, it is certainly not something I have achieved alone. Joseph added that returning to the Maldives has made the recognition particularly meaningful.
“This country has played such an important role in my career, and it has been incredibly rewarding to return and lead such a passionate team at Radisson Blu Resort Maldives. Together, we’re building something we’re all proud of, and I’m excited for what’s still to come,” he added.
