Anantara Veli Maldives Resort Reopens With New Wellness Concept

After nine months of extensive renovation, Anantara Veli Maldives Resort reopened on 1st December 2022. The renovation includes revamped accommodation, introducing a new room category; Beach Pool Villa, a new Villa Host service for guests, redesigned restaurants and a hammam added to the spa.

The unspoiled setting of Anantara Veli inspired New York based designer Yuji Yamazaki to develop a renovation concept centered in nature and wellness. Yamazaki added an extra layer of privacy to keep guests at one with the environment while giving them a sense of seclusion, from self-sufficient villa and spa designs to restaurants infused with modern takes on no-walls tropical living.

“We are really excited to relaunch Anantara Veli, on schedule and in time for the festive season. With the completion of the extensive refurbishment, including the addition of the brand-new Beach Pool Villas, the adults only resort is once again world class and will compete strongly in the very competitive Maldives market,” said Giles Selves, Cluster General Manager at Anantara Veli Maldives Resort.

The overwater villas at Anantara Veli are set with cool powder tones and organic patterns borrowed from nature. The villas feature standalone tubs, outdoor rain showers and Villa Host service. All villas have been renovated in traditional-meets-contemporary tropical style, using natural palette of wood and stone, cool fabrics and rattan finishes with the latest technology. Set on the soft white sands, the brand new Beach Pool Villas come with sliding glass doors that open onto a private pool and a cushioned daybed. The villa features an open-air living and dining space, an island-style bedroom surrounded by tropical foliage. Each villa offers 148 square metres of space, with direct beach access and utmost privacy.

With the relaunch of Anantara Veli, a new wellness concept has been introduced which allows guests to book personalised Wellness Villa experience. Elevated by light, sound and scent therapy that changes the ambience from day to night, the villa comes with Ayurvedic spa amenities, an earthing mat for meditation, and wellness minibar with herbal teas, healthy shakes and wholefood snacks. All stays in a Wellness Villa includes a consultation upon arrival, daily yoga or personal training session, healthy cooking classes, and 20% savings on treatments at Balance Wellness by Anantara.
