Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi appoints Steven Stefaniuk as General Manager

Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi has announced the appointment of Steven Stefaniuk as the resort’s new General Manager. With a wealth of luxury hospitality experience, spanning an impressive 21 years, in his new role Steven will lead the overall operations, performance, and strategic direction for Fairmont Maldives.

With a hotel career exceeding two decades in five countries, Steven brings his experiences from Canada, Bermuda, the United Arab Emirates, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi. Having spent 18 years with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in iconic properties such as Fairmont Waterfront, Fairmont Banff Springs, Fairmont Southampton, Fairmont Dubai and Fairmont The Palm, Steven is excited to add another icon to his portfolio: Fairmont Maldives, Sirru Fen Fushi or locally known as the ‘Secret Water Island’.

Steven studied Hospitality Management at the renowned Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. With this, Steven joins the team with an inherent understanding of Fairmont Maldives’ key pillars: an unwavering commitment to excellence, family-inspired experiences, outstanding culinary offerings, uncompromising values of sustainability, along with a focus on wellness.

The new appointment comes at an exciting time for Fairmont Maldives, with the ministry of tourism in the Maldives reporting the country has received over 220,574 tourists in 2023 so far, a 31% increase compared to the same period in 2022. New for this year, Fairmont Maldives invites guest to stay in the Beach Tented Villas, safari-style accommodation on the sand offering a conscious castaway experience unique to the island, as well as take part in workshops at the Sustainability Lab to turn ocean waste into bespoke souvenirs. Guests have plenty to choose from, with 120 luxury villas each boasting a private pool, four restaurants & bars, an interactive Kids Club, Art Studio, tennis courts, water sports and the Fairmont Spa & fitness centre.
