Qatar Travel Mart 2021 and Maldives Roadshow in Doha
Visit Maldives participated in Qatar Travel Mart 2021 (QTM), one of the leading international travel and tourism markets held in the GCC region. The event took place from 16 to 18 November 2021. Coinciding with QTM, a Maldives Roadshow in Doha was held on 16 November 2021.
Twenty-two industry partners took part in QTM 2021 and ten partners took part in the Maldives Roadshow in Doha. QTM and the Roadshow presented the opportunity for the global travel trade to meet, network, maintain old business relationships and build new ones. The participants alongside Visit Maldives had the opportunity to present their latest products and experiences as well as taking part in one-on-one meetings, seminars, networking sessions and more.
Moreover, two raffles were drawn at the events, sponsored by JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa and Movenpick Resort Kuredhivaru Maldives.
As of 31st October 2021, Maldives welcomed over 5,472 travelers from Qatar.
Dema Show 2021, USA
Visit Maldives showcases thrilling underwater experiences available in the Maldives at DEMA Show 2021. The event is held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA from 16th to 19th November 2021.
DEMA is the largest trade only event in the world for companies doing business in the scuba diving, oceanwater sports and adventure/dive travel industries. It attracts hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of dive and travel industry professionals from around the world each year. Apart from exhibiting underwater activities this is also an ideal opportunity for industry partners to announce their latest plans and collaboration with new partners and strengthen old ties in the USA Market.
Visit Maldives is participating in the event along with industry partners, Marselia Maldives Pvt Ltd, Robinson Club Maldives, Ocean Sapphire and Six Senses Laamu.
USA is the top fourth market to the Maldives in 2021 with 41,053 arrivals as of October.
Online travel mart by Japanese Association of Travel Agents
Visit Maldives participates in an online travel mart organized by the Japanese Association of Travel Agents, JATA. JATA 2nd Online Mart is organized by the Outbound Travel Promotion Division of JATA. The event consists of online seminars to be held from 16-17th November and business meetings to be held from 25th-26th November.
It connects travel industry professionals from Japan and overseas, allowing exchange of the latest information on border openings, travel restrictions, travel safety protocols and destination attractions. Visit Maldives is representing the country in the online event, while industry partners including CrossRoads Maldives, The Westin Maldives Miriandhoo & Grand Park Kodhipparu are taking part in the B2B meetings of the event.
Visit Maldives becomes a member of Australia’s travel industry’s top global media network, TravMedia.
TravMedia is trusted by travel PR professionals and media to network and share press releases, stories and ideas. The main objective of this membership is to reach as many media contacts and access as many journalists as possible to help disseminate genuine and latest information regarding Maldives to the travel trade professionals in Australia.
The membership will assist Visit Maldives distribute destination related information and press releases to 2,200 Australian travel media and industry professionals through email and website feed. It will allow Visit Maldives priority access and significant discounts to TravMedia’s International Media Marketplace (IMM) and networking events for journalists and PR professionals in the U.S., U.K., Asia, Australia, Germany, France, and Brazil.
TravMedia operates in nine countries with twelve offices and connects over 45,000 travel professionals including 25,000 editors and journalists.
