Maldives’ tourist arrivals up 9% in August, 1.49 million in 2025
Tourist arrivals to the Maldives increased by 9 per cent in August compared to the same month last year, according to figures released by the Ministry of Tourism.
As of 30 August, 192,058 tourists had arrived, compared to 176,175 during the same period in 2024.
A total of 1.49 million tourists have visited the country so far this year. The ministry said arrivals currently average over 6,100 per day.
Tourist Accommodation Patterns:
- 73.4% of arrivals stayed in resorts
- 21.9% stayed in guesthouses
- 2% stayed in hotels and liveaboard vessels
