New Year Celebrations in Maldives Resorts
To kick start 2022, resorts in the Maldives curated creative festive programmes with unique mixes of entertainment and culinary experiences.

Vakkaru Maldives
For New Year’s Eve, the entire island transformed into a fairyland for the finale of the festive season: the ‘Glitter & Gold: Bling in The New Year” Countdown Gala. The nigh featured DJ Anna and So Blue & the Band along with a medley of Oldies But Goldies, jugglers, hula hoopers, aerialists, stilt walkers, acrobats, cabaret dancers, and the LED and Fire show. Meanwhile, the culinary team surprised guests with a decadent celebration of local and international delights.
Dhigali Maldives
Dhigali Maldives had a Roaring 20’s inspired themed evening, with a sumptuous buffet of endless extravagant creations with live music and dj. The night began with a cocktail reception at Haali Beach, following by the Gala at Capers Restaurant featuring finest cuisines from around the world. After the feast, the east beach hosted the party and grand countdown with contemporary music of Illumo Band and vibrant beats of DJ Hambe.
Amilla Maldives
The New Year’s Eve celebrations was an island-wide extravaganza. Amilla welcomed DJ Scotts Mills, from BBC Radio One, who was supported by Limestone Band on the main stage. The ‘Out of the Blue’ themed party whisked guests away to a Venetian underwater world with mythical creatures, opera, violins, and much more.
Siyam World
Siyam World’s Global Thrills and World Adventures’-themed celebrations featured a DJ set by celebrity duo Mel Blatt and Jaime Winstone, and an exclusive headline performance by British singer and songwriter Becky Hill. Throughout the season, the resort hosted an array of festive gala menus at the resort’s restaurants, from Asian fusion at The Wahoo Grill and Mediterranean at Andalucía, to Lobster & Champagne dinners and wine and cheese nights.
Sun Siyam Olhuveli
Sun Siyam Olhuveli transformed its two islands into a tropical wonderland. Live performances were given by Marvin Humes, Jessica Agombar, DJ Charlesy. Guests were treated to a gala dinner at Sunset and Malaafaiy and a cocktail party at the Sunset Beach.
Joali Maldives
Joali’s fantastical New Year’s Eve offered a lavish feast of international dishes and artistic surprises at the Vandhoo Beach. The unforgettable celebration was filled with joy, amazing performances, fireworks and dancing.
Dusit Thani Maldives
New Year celebrations began with an elegant cocktail reception followed by a gala dinner featuring spectacular performances, live music, dancing, and fireworks at midnight.
