TMA commences annual futsal tournament

TMA_FUTSAL_2The Annual Futsal Tournament held by Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) commenced on Wednesday, 22 April 2015. With a total of 23 teams participating in this year’s tournament, this is the biggest, most popular event organized by the TMA community every year.

Held at the MNDF grounds in Hulhumale’, the opening ceremony was attended by the Managing Director of MACL and Chief Guest of the ceremony Mr. Adhil Moosa, the CEO of TMA Mr. A.U.M Fawzy, Vice Chairman of the Football Association of Maldives, Abdul Hamid Abdul Gafoor, and other members and associates of TMA.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. A.U.M Fawzy highlighted the fact that this was a great initiative taken by TMA to build the team spirit within the TMA community.

The tournament kicked off yesterday with the opening match between the Vikings and Banana Boys.

In 2013, under the leading investment advisory firm Blackstone, a private equity fund acquired a controlling interest in the two companies Maldivian Air Taxi and Trans Maldivian Airways, which merged together under the name TMA.

With 44 seaplanes including the new DHC-6-400 series, TMA is the world’s largest Twin Otter operators conducting about 100,00 flights per year to more than 60 resorts.
