Velaa Private Island to Reopen in September after Exciting Renovation

Velaa Private Island in Noonu Atoll is reopening on 15 September 2022 after a closure of four months. From May 2022, resort has been conducting a series of exciting renovations throughout the ultra-luxury island.

Guests will see substantial improvements with some new facilities within the resort’s Food and Beverage and Spa operations. Joining its stunning overwater spa will be a wellness village that offers a more holistic experience and a new wellness restaurant with spa cuisines. Renovation is also being done with recreational facilities, rooms and F&B areas. “For a while it has been our desire to bring greater amenities and world-class facilities to the Maldives, a vision made reality though the tireless commitment and hard work of our Velaa Family and its supporters,” said General Manager Wayne Milgate in the latest Velaa Moments Magazine.

This next chapter of Velaa Private Island is to be fully complete before the resort’s ninth anniversary in December 2022. The resort is also preparing for an amazing Halloween event ‘Dragons at Velaa’ in October 2022, with a programme of fun-packed activities for kids and adults.
